Biographical Sketches of Executive and Key Personnel of Service Transport
Company
President
Claude H. Lewis - with a background in manufacturing and transportation
management, joined Service Transport Company in 1974 as Personnel and Safety
Director. After four months in this capacity, Mr. Lewis was promptly promoted
to Vice President of Sales with the additional responsibility of all regulatory
affairs, including the administration of rates, billing and accounts
receivable. In 1982, Mr. Lewis assumed the duties of President of the Company,
overseeing the Company's common carrier operations. Under his leadership
Service Transport Company has grown from a small Texas intrastate specialized
motor carrier to an international commercial tank truck carrier with revenues
approaching $60,000,000 per year.
Mr. Lewis' services to the industry include several years as president of the
Texas Tank Truck Carriers Association as well as several years on the Board of
Directors of the Texas Motor Transportation Association. Mr. Lewis is
recognized by the industry as a professional, low-key, very deliberate
executive.
Vice President - Quality Assurance
Dennis R. Herrington has been involved in the truck transportation industry
since his graduation from Centenary College of Louisiana in 1967. Ten of these
thirty-seven years were spent in administrative law enforcement for the State
of Texas during which he performed compliance audits on motor carriers. He has
been employed with Service Transport Company since 1983. Mr. Herrington's
duties as Vice President of Quality Assurance include the administration of the
Service Transport Company Quality Process, including acting as the Management
Representative for the Company. Corollary with the Quality management analysis,
he is responsible for contract review and participation in pricing analysis. He
is also responsible for the administration of regulatory affairs, interacting
with the state and federal agencies that continue to regulate the authorities
and permitting of the various aspects of the transportation industry. He has
actively participated in industry affairs by serving as past president of the
Texas Tank Truck Carriers Association, the Houston Area Transportation Safety
Association and B.A.T.T.L.E, the largest transportation political action
committee in the state. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the
Louisiana Motor Transport Association. Mr. Herrington is recognized in the
industry as an expert in regulatory affairs and rate analysis and is a valuable
resource for our Company, our customers, their customers and several motor
carrier trade associations.
Vice President of Sales
Gary L. Doggett with a background in transportation sales management, has
been involved in sales and sales management for various aspects of the
transportation industry since 1976. He attended the University of Houston and
has participated in many industry sponsored workshops and seminars. Mr. Doggett
joined Service Transport Company in December of 1986 as Sales Manager. In 1995,
Mr. Doggett was promoted to Vice-President - Sales. His duties as Vice
President of Sales include the supervision and management of all sales
activities, such as, identification of prospective customers, sales forecasts
and growth, and maintenance of market share. Mr. Doggett is also responsible
for contract review and negotiations. Mr. Doggett is recognized by the industry
as a transportation professional with a congenial and can-do attitude.
Vice President - Business Development and Operations
Jim Brown has been employed with Service Transport Company since September
1986. He attended Lamar University and has, since 1981, had experience in
various types of distribution. Mr. Brown's duties as Vice President of Business
Development and Operations include the supervision of the following
departments: terminal operations, environmental, maintenance, tank cleaning,
purchasing, and customer service as well as the development and growth of
established customers and customizing our services to them. Mr. Brown is
recognized by the industry as an expert in technical operations and by his
ability to analyze a customer's needs and tailor services to meet or exceed
their expectations.
Vice President - Human Resoures
Wendy Clepper has been employed with Service Transport since 1997.
She has a Master’s degree in Occupational Training Management from Idaho State University
with an emphasis in Corporate Training and Development. She is responsible for
overseeing all Human Resource functions which assist the company in utilizing employee
skills to enhance productivity, increase performance and improve business results.
She also manages the development of Human Resource programs and policies including the
strict pre-screening of all prospective applicants’ vehicle safety record and criminal
record prior to employment with Service Transport Company.
Vice President - Finance
Marcell M. Teehee joined Service Transport Company in June of 2007 and has been with the parent
company, Adams Resources & Energy, Inc. since 1981. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas with
a B.S. in accounting and has maintained her certification as a Certified Public Accountant since 1985. Her
experience and expertise in her areas of responsibility became an immediate asset to the Company. She is the
Chief Financial Officer for the Company and is responsible for the accounting, receivables and financial
reporting of the Company as well as the rating and information technology systems.
Controller
David Koerth has been in accounting since his graduation from Houston Baptist
University in 1989. He has been with Service Transport since January of 1998.
His responsibilities are to oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting
group.
Director of Business Administration
Richard (Dick) Visser has been with Service Transport Company since February of 2004.
He graduated from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, in 1965 with a degree in Business
Administration (emphasis in accounting). Mr. Visser received his designation as a Certified
Public Accountant in 1981 and was a licensed practioner until 2000. In 1986 he became a
principal in a multi-terminal tank truck lease operation and was responsible for all
administrative operations of that company. His day-to-day responsibilities at Service Transport
Company include contract administration, rating, billing and driver settlements.
Director of Terminal Operations
Harry Allen has been employed with Service Transport Company since 1981. He
has, since 1975 been involved in various segments of the transportation
industry. For seventeen years he was "dedicated" to the management of the
Celanese Black Acid Unit as an employee for Service Transport. Among his
accomplishments at Service Transport is that he is only one of the very few
drivers at Service Transport to receive the TWO MILLION MILE AWARD for
accident/incident free driving. He came to his current position from manager of
Service's Mobile Terminal. Mr. Allen's duties as Director of Terminal
Operations include: supervision of all terminals operational activities, driver
management, maintenance and terminal purchasing functions.
Director of Maintenance
Robert (Robby) Arnold joined the team at Service Transport Company in August
of 2006. He began his career in transportation as a mechanic/helper in the Oil Patch in
1983. He became a partner in an oil field service company and that specialized in maintenance
of off-road equipment. He left the oil field service business to specialize in long-haul
trucking maintenance. His day-to-day responsibility is the supervision of fleet maintenance
and wash racks for our company. His extensive experience in customer interaction and well
as in the supervision of maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, regulatory record keeping
and D.O.T required training is an invaluable asset for Service Transport Company.
Maintenance Manager
Dale Yasman has been employed with Service Transport Company since July of
1992. He has been in truck maintenance since 1982 in various shops performing
fleet maintenance. His day-to-day responsibilities include supervising the
Houston mechanics, initiating purchases to maintain the fleet, coordinating
warranty issues with truck dealerships and coordinating the trailer maintenance
and inspections.
Director of Environmental Health & Safety
Wayne Brewer is a former Texas State Trooper and has been working in the
transportation field since 1970. His trucking experience varies from
flatbed/heavy hauling to bulk liquid, hazardous commodities. Mr. Brewer joined
the Service Transport team in 2005 and brings with him extensive experience in
the regulatory arena. He also attended Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin
State University and served in the U. S. Navy, Office of Naval Intelligence.
Safety Director
Ron Fuller has been employed with Service Transport Company since January
of 1980 and in the transportation industry since 1971. He went into management
in 1995 and has received the ONE MILLION MILE Safety Award from Service
Transport. Mr. Fuller's responsibilities in the Safety Department include the
implementation and supervision of safety policies and procedures to insure
compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
National Sales and Marketing Director
H.W. (Chuck) Toledo has been employed with Service Transport since January
2003. Since receiving his marketing degree from Louisiana State University in
1974, he has been in the chemical and transportation industry. His experience
in chemical manufacturing, international and domestic distribution, purchasing
and transportation is a continuing asset to the Company. His bi-lingual skills
(English/Spanish) have been an asset in continuing our growing business in
Mexico. In his current role with Service Transport Company, his primary
responsibilities are the development of new business opportunities that fit the
profit objectives of the company and nurturing key customer relations. He also
acts in a support role for St. Gabriel Terminal Management. His reputation in
the industry is that of a cheerful, aggressive sales professional who promotes
the Company to a Shipper and, equally, promotes a Shipper to the Company.
St. Gabriel Terminal Manager
Lucian Welch has been employed with Service Transport Company since April of
2000. He has worked in the tank truck industry since 1987. Mr. Welch started
out as a driver and has been working in terminal management since 1992. He is
responsible for dispatch? drivers, terminal operations, profitability and
customer relations for the St. Gabriel, Louisiana, terminal.
Nederland Terminal Manager
Steve Hargrove has been employed by Service Transport since April of 1997. He
has been in management since 1984 with many years in the oil patch as a
Terminal Manager / Regional Manager, over-seeing all aspects of transportation,
including trucks, barges, etc. His duties with Service Transport include all
aspects of day-to-day operations of the Nederland Terminal including dispatch,
maintenance, safety and customer relations. Mr. Hargrove also attended Lamar
University/Beaumont for Business Management classes.
Mobile Terminal Manager
Belinda (Lynn) Phillips has been employed by Service Transport since March of
2002. She has been in the tank truck transportation since 1992. In early 2004
she was promoted to Terminal Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of that facility, including all operations and customer relations.
Corpus Christi Terminal Manager
Jim Lewis has been employed by Service Transport Company since January of
1969. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of that facility. In his
years with Service Transport Company, his Corpus Christi Terminal has been one
of the most consistently profitable and efficiently run terminals in the
system.
